Chris Perkowski
Partner, Washington, DC
Chris has been at the forefront of community development finance since 2007, structuring and closing high-impact investments that transform communities across the country. His work spans manufacturing, health care, education, performing arts, and mixed-use projects, delivering lasting economic and social value.
Before founding KCD Legal Partners with Kevin Savory and David Lutz, Chris was a partner at two national law firms, where he built a reputation as a leading authority in New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs) and community development lending.
Chris focuses on leveraging federal, state, and local incentives to fund projects that advance sustainable growth. He works closely with CDEs, CDFIs, investors, developers, and nonprofits to navigate the complexities of NMTC transactions, guiding projects from initial structuring through post-closing compliance and workouts to ensure each achieves both its financial and community goals.
